The morning after the worst of Hurricane Sandy had passed through Manhattan, we walked from the West Village down to Battery Park City to scope out the damage. It’s a pretty long walk but we were tired of being cooped up indoors without any electricity and more than a little curious. Even though the damage in the parts of the city that we did see didn’t seem all too bad, Sandy had definitely taken its toll. We still don’t have electricity and our neighborhood is positively eerie at night. Still, our hearts go out to the families who are still dealing with the ramifications of the storm.
