Autumn in Central Park – A Leaf Peeping Preview

The leaves in Central Park are finally starting to turn into brilliant warm hues of fall but it’s not quite peak leaf peeping, yet.  The park’s still mostly green with a few solitary trees dotting the winding paths so I focused on mostly close ups in this preview of things to come.

Almost Autumn in Central Park

While our New England neighbors are already blanketed in gorgeous shades of fall, the leaves in Central Park are still mostly green so my attempts at leaf peeping this past weekend were a little premature.  I managed to get a few shots in nonetheless, in preparation.  One can always hope.

The High Line Rail Yards

The Rail Yards is the soon-to-be-developed and final segment of the High Line.  It offers an amazing glimpse into the past landscape of my favorite NYC park.  Right now, wild grasses and self-seeded wildflowers grow for as far as the eye can see, some of which will be preserved in the park’s design for the final segment –  I can’t wait to see what the completed Rail Yards at the High Line will look like!  One of the many reasons I love living in NYC.

New Hampshire Labor Day Weekend at Camp Sunapee

We spent the holiday weekend in New Hampshire at a beautiful summer camp hosted by the awesome folks who run the Russian School of Mathematics.  The weather was perfect and we made some lovely new friends, including some beautiful little ones with boundless energy.
